(We Are) What We Eat
This series of oil paintings focuses on our obsession with food as its main subject. Images vary as does the mood of each painting. Yet, our avid craving for sustenance is most certainly foremost in our minds. Sometimes celebratory, sometimes cautionary, the theme of this grouping reinforces a “food for thought” mantra. With jagged borders isolating the imagery, the still life genre takes on a bold use of vibrant color, stark lighting, and dramatic compositioning.
