In Memoria
Life encompasses many events which affects us in a multitude of ways. People, places, and things morph into lingering recollections and gateways to our past. My personal connection to certain natural or man-made objects is the symbolic crux of this group of oil paintings. Using single or multiple imagery inspired from previous experiences throughout my life, this series of works explores subtle yet pivotal moments aligned with my own distant memories. The background proves somewhat incidental. As I emphasize a dreamy watercolor style incorporating fields of contrasting colors which dramatically fades, the detailed realistic images remain the primary focal interest. Subject matter and messaging will vary with each work.
